Smoak Designs looks for professionals who want to create rewarding architecture while working with our clients, in a flexible working environment. All staff are required and supported in efforts to maintain advanced knowledge of computer-aided drafting (AutoCAD and Bentley), Building Information Modeling software (REVIT or Bentley) and Microsoft Office applications.

All professional staff members are encouraged to obtain LEED accreditation.

Our professional staff consists of the following:

Project Manager: All projects are directed by the architectural or interior’s project manager. Our Project Manager is a Registered Architect or Interior Designer and is the principal administrator and communications link between the company and the client, general contractor, consultants and public authorities. Project Managers are responsible for the overall design direction, financial and technical management and execution of projects. Responsibilities of this dynamic role include project leadership, project team management, client relations and contract and fee negotiation. Business development skills, knowledge of architecture and engineering principles, financial management, familiarity with a variety of contract terms and formats as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

Senior Project Architect/Interior Designer: This position exists to lead, facilitate and coordinate the planning, programming, architectural, interior design and engineering design services on assigned projects from project analysis to completion for the company.

Senior level professionals lead and coordinate activities and reviews the work of architectural, structural, mechanical and electrical staff as well as any outside consultants. This professional is involved in the project budgeting process by providing input and monitoring project expenditures as appropriate.

Project Architect/Interior Designer: This position exists to lead, facilitate and coordinate the planning, programming, architectural and engineering design services on assigned projects from project analysis to completion for the company. A Project Architect leads and coordinate activities and reviews the work of architectural, interior design, structural, mechanical and electrical consultants as well as well as other Smoak Designs’ employees. This position has no direct operating budget authority, however, it is involved in the project budgeting process by providing input and monitoring project expenditures as appropriate.

Architectural Intern: This position exists to develop the ability to lead, facilitate and coordinate the planning, programming, architectural and engineering design services on assigned projects from project analysis to completion for the company. This position includes individuals who have strong abilities as designers, but do not have the technical experience to “completely put together a building”. This position does coordinate activities with architectural, interior design, structural, mechanical and electrical designers as well as other Smoak Designs’ employees.
